Militia Templi Preceptory No.661 – Installation Meeting
Militia Templi Preceptory No.661 met on Thursday 3rd September at Syston, Leicestershire, for its annual Installation meeting. Founded in 2006, this special preceptory serves as the home for Knights connected with the Provincial Bodyguard and continues to uphold that proud tradition.
The evening marked an important milestone as the Preceptory welcomed its new Preceptor, Garry Symonds, who was installed into the chair with sincerity and confidence. He succeeds Roger Boylan, whose dedicated service was warmly acknowledged by the members present.
Presiding over the meeting, as ever with calm authority, was the Provincial Prior, Right Eminent Knight David Bull, who expressed his pleasure in supporting the Preceptory at this significant annual occasion.
Following the conclusion of the installation business, the Knights once again demonstrated their generosity. A collection was taken for both the Almoners Fund and the Jerusalem Eye Hospital, whose vital work provides life‑changing surgery and specialist care to restore sight for those in need.
The evening was a fitting celebration of commitment, continuity, and charity within Militia Templi Preceptory No.661.
